Symmetry

Symmetry

The fruit,
bruised on one side,
was then dropped
on the other.
I cut the original
damage away,
and it was flat
on one side,
but just before
it perished
you removed the other.
This continues
until
it is consumed,
but the seeds remain.

  11. Perhaps being brought up in Worl War 2, bruised apples were not shunned. In fact I quite like the taste of them if the bruise was fresh. Otherwise I would excavate the bad bit and quite happily enjoy the rest! It was no unknown for kids to eat core, pips and all in those days when we always hungry!

  13. Am looking at that apple as a metaphor for life and maybe am glad that the core remains, no matter what was bruised or taken away!
